Genetec, Milestone and other VMS

Genetec Security Center and Milestone XProtect do not install apps on cameras. Install Anava Edge with one of these methods instead:

• AXIS Device Manager
• The camera web page
• AXIS Camera Station Pro
• Scripts

The cameras can stay in your VMS the whole time.

Set up events in your VMS

After the app is running, set up the VMS to receive Anava events:

• Genetec Security Center
• Milestone XProtect
• AXIS Camera Station

Confirm events arrive

The console has no test button for this. Use the Classic page (/lite).

1. Open the Classic page on a camera: http://<camera-ip>/local/AnavaAgent/web/lite.
2. Select Send test event to VMS.
3. In your VMS, look for the test events.

The test sends two events, anava_detection and anava_description, that share one correlation id. If both show up in the VMS, the path works. If neither does, check the camera's network settings and the event setup in the VMS guide above.

You can also wait for a real event. Walk in front of the camera, then look for the event in your VMS. Each rule you set up in the console sends its own events.
